You know, Marge Simpson rarely bothers with makeup, but she certainly is a style icon. That and her long-standing awesomness is why we’re excited that MAC Cosmetics have chosen to give her the spotlight in a new makup line: The collection will be available in stores everywhere on September 4 (and online at www.maccosmetics.com on August 28) but will be sold exclusively for ONE DAY ONLY during San Diego’s Comic-Con on Saturday, July 26 at the MAC Cosmetics Gaslamp store located at 234 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92191.
Fans are invited to visit the store for this one day only opportunity to purchase the collection and also receive a Marge makeover from the ten piece collection that includes nail stickers ($16.50), eye shadows ($44), lipglasses ($16.50), and lashes ($18.50). Marge herself had this to say about a few of the color options in the palette: “They’re all so great, but I must say that Lisa’s Spikes really works well with my skin tone and of course, Beehive Blue complements my hair perfectly.” Previously in MAC Cosmetics. Some kids dream of growing up and becoming President of the United States, or going into outer space. I, on the other hand, always dreamed of becoming a writer. That’s why I started my very own lifestyle magazine in first grade. That publication has folded, but it didn’t deter me from pursuing journalism.
Since then I’ve written for NYLON, New York, Teen Vogue, ELLE.com, Glamour, Marie Claire, SELF, New York Post, USA TODAY, CNTraveler.com, Time Out New York, Health.com, Stylebistro.com, NYLON Guys, BBC Travel, Latina, Organic Spa Magazine, and BUST, among others. In two and a half decades, she has never changed her iconic look. That’s why is celebrating Marge Simpson with her very own collection, just in time for the 25 th anniversary of the beloved. “Everyone knows a Marge Simpson,” says MAC Senior Artist John Stapleton. “She’s that lady in your neighborhood who always looks good and is approachable.
She’s no nonsense. She’s resourceful. She’s trustworthy. You know Marge is going to tell you like it is. She’s a beauty with minimal use of products— strictly a mascara and lipstick kind of gal.
I think Marge teaches all of us that beauty is within. Choose a few products to brighten your day and amp up your best features. Ultimately, as long as you have a smile and a sense of yourself, you will radiate. That, and having a blue beehive also seems to be a crowd pleaser.” Even the names have a Springfield twist: The bright yellow lipglass is dubbed “Nacho Cheese Explosion” and lime green eyeshadow is called “Lisa’s Spikes.” The collection includes satin pink Powder Blush for face; a classic 7 Lash; nail stickers; Lipglass in neon shades of orange, lime yellow, fuchsia, and violet blue; and two special-edition eye shadow palettes in shimmery shades of green, blue and purple, all in limited-edition packaging. The line plays off a few key fall beauty fads. “One of my favorite trends from the runways this fall season was the deconstructed eyeliners in shades of navy,” Stapleton says. “Another look popularized on the runways was a sheer, warm tone on the lips, reminiscent of honey.”. Lipglass in Itchy & Scratchy & Sexy As Marge knows, the collection can be worn night and day. For the latter, Stapleton gives a step-by-step on how to achieve Minimal Marge: “Apply Mineralize Liquid foundation to the skin for a radiant glow.

Set with Mineralize Skin Finish Powder. Apply 2 Dozen And One Greyhounds to the eyelid with a firm brush like MAC 252 brush. Blend across the lid and into the socket. Apply a generous amount of mascara on the top and bottom lashes. Finish with a 7 Lash, but apply it on the opposite eye so the length is on the inner part of the eye. This will make eyes look rounder and more innocent. Apply Hover Lip Pencil to the lips and fill in with Nacho Cheese Explosion gloss for a set of lips that look like they’ve been coated in honey.”.
That Trillion Dollar Look Eyeshadow Quad For evening, try Maximum Marge: “Pump up the eyes using Marge’s Extra Ingredients quad. Start with a soft layer of Harpooned Heart on the eyelid.
Dip into Sexy PB & J with a firm brush and place on the outer edge of the eye and blend into the crease. Line inside the eyes with Eye Pencil in Smolder and smoke under the eye and along the top lash line with Vivacious Vacuum Cleaner Bag and a 219 brush. Add In Extreme Dimension Mascara to give lashes a blast of black. Doll up the apples of the cheeks using Pink Sprinkles blush.”. Marge Simpson’s Cutie-cles Nail Stickers No matter what the occasion, the false lashes amp up any look. “Marge is nothing without her alluring lashes, and at MAC the 7 Lash is a classic,” says Stapleton. “This lash is crafted to give distinct, separated length to your natural lashes. It can be difficult navigating an entire lash from corner to corner on your own.
