Rated 5 out of 5 by Tim88 from Works well I tested a few different brands and this unit is the first powered multi-USB hub that will allow me to transfer large data files from one hard drive to a second with both connected on the hub at the same time. I have two different brand laptops each one with its own single unique port and the process works for both. It has given me no problems driving other peripherals. Connection are tight and holding up. I move my setup around so the hub gets book-bag treatment and I've been using it for three months.

That wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that plugging it in there is a high-pitch whine coming from the adapter, and there's no indication of whether the hub is getting power from it or from my PC. Also I've had USB devices plugged into it mysteriously fail at times. So now I just don't trust the thing; I'm keeping the whiny power adapter unplugged for now and hoping my keyboard/mouse continue to work with it until I buy a new hub.
